Click on “Insert” > “PDF” to load the PDF file, or simply drag it to the software. Paste the image text to TextEdit, Note, Microsoft Word, or anywhere. Control-click the picture, and choose the “Copy Text from Picture” option or “Copy Text from This Page of the Printout” option. Alternatively, you can drag an image to the blank area on the right. Navigate to “Insert” > “Picture” from the ribbon tabs, and then import an image from the location. The latter is a UWP version developed for Windows 10 and it’s more suitable for tablets. The former was included in Office 2016 previously and now is a piece of standalone free OCR software. Knowledge: Currently, OneNote OCR for PC can be regarded as two versions, OneNote 2016 OCR and OneNote OCR for Windows 10. The steps to OCR PDF/image with OneNote on Mac and Windows are similar.
